Cookies

Cookies are very small text files used by Internet pages, which your browser stores on your computer and which provide certain information from the place where the cookie is set (here by us). Cookies cannot run programs or transmit viruses to your computer.

Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. This particularly includes session cookies. Session cookies store a session ID, with which different requests from your browser can be assigned to the common session. This means that your computer can be recognized when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.

Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser’s security settings.

This information serves to optimize our offer and to offer you more comfort when browsing our pages. The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 (1) (f) GDPR.

You can set your Internet browser to inform you when a web server wants to send you a cookie. You can then either accept or refuse the cookie. You can configure your browser settings according to your wishes and refuse the acceptance of third party cookies or all cookies, for example. Please note that you may not be able to use all functions of this website if you disable cookies. You can find out more about this in the help system of your Internet browser.

Cookies for ad-free accounts. If you remove ads or sign in, we set a cookie named google-ad-hidden-pass on that device. It holds a random code that tells our server this device belongs to an ad-free account (we store only a hashed form of the code). It lasts up to 400 days, is renewed while you use the site, and is deleted when you sign out. While you buy, we also set a cookie named rwg_checkout, used only on our checkout pages for up to 2 hours, so that your return from Stripe is matched to the browser that started the purchase, and a session cookie that shows you a one-time confirmation message. These cookies are strictly necessary for the ad-free service you asked for. While your device is signed in to an ad-free account, our pages do not load the advertising scripts described below. Google Analytics still runs as described.

Removing ads: your email address and account

You can pay once to turn off ads. To do that, or to sign in on another device, you give us your email address. Your email address is your account: there is no password and no registration form. We use it only to link your purchase to you, to email you sign-in links and to email your receipt. We do not send newsletters or marketing email, and we do not sell your email address or share it with advertisers.

We store your email address; a record of your purchase (the amount, date, status and Stripe's reference for the payment); the sign-in links we email you, in hashed form (a sign-in link works once, for 30 minutes, and the link in your receipt works for 30 days); and, for each device you sign in on, when it was signed in and last used and its browser type (user agent). To limit abuse of the checkout and sign-in forms, we also store a hashed form of the IP address each request came from.

We keep your account and purchase record for as long as your ad-free account exists, because that record is what keeps ads off. To have your account deleted, email info@1s0s.com from the address you used. Deleting it turns ads back on for every device that was signed in. We may keep the payment record itself where tax or accounting law requires it.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 (1) (b) GDPR (providing the ad-free service you paid for) and, for the abuse limits, Art. 6 Para. 1 (1) (f) GDPR.

Payments (Stripe)

Payments are made on a secure page run by Stripe, our payment processor. Sanden Solutions handles payments for Random Word Generator, so the Stripe page shows "Sanden Solutions" and the charge appears on your card statement as SANDEN* RWG. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. We receive only your email address, the amount, whether the payment succeeded and Stripe's reference for it. Stripe processes your data under its own privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 (1) (b) GDPR.

Emails (SendGrid)

We send sign-in links and receipts through Twilio SendGrid, an email delivery service. SendGrid receives your email address and the content of each message in order to deliver it, and keeps a record of each delivery (for example, whether it was delivered or bounced). We turn off SendGrid's open and click tracking, so our emails contain no tracking pixel and their links are not rewritten. SendGrid processes this data under Twilio's privacy notice: https://www.twilio.com/en-us/legal/privacy. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 (1) (b) GDPR.

DoubleClick by Google

This website continues to use the online marketing tool DoubleClick by Google. DoubleClick uses cookies in order to activate ads relevant to users, improve campaign performance reports, or to prevent a user from seeing the same ads more than once. Google uses a cookie ID to track which ads are displayed in which browser and to prevent them from being displayed more than once. In addition, DoubleClick may use cookie IDs to collect conversions related to ad requests. This is the case, for example, when a user sees a DoubleClick ad and later visits the advertiser's website with the same browser and buys something there. According to Google, DoubleClick cookies do not contain any personal information.

Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. We do not have any influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our level of knowledge: By integrating DoubleClick, Google receives information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked on one of our ads. If you are registered with a Google service, Google may associate your visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider may obtain and store your IP address.

You can prevent participation in this tracking procedure in various ways:

- By setting your browser software accordingly, in particular the suppression of third party cookies means that you will not receive any ads from third party providers.
- By disabling cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the "www.googleadservices.com" domain, https://www.google.de/settings/ads, which will be deleted when you delete your cookies.
- By disabling the interest-based advertisements from providers that are part of the "About Ads" self-regulation campaign via the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, whereby this setting is deleted if you delete your cookies.
- Through permanent deactivation in your browsers Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome via the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. Please note that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this offer in full.

The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 Para. 1 (1) (f) GDPR.
